The architectural and design duo Roman Vrtiška and Vladimír Žák from the Vrtiška & Žák studio present their work in the Museum of Applied Arts of the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The exhibition For Good Design guides visitors through a representative selection of their joint work in the field of product design. In this leading Czech studio, product design represents one of the distinctive parts of a broad portfolio, which also includes exhibition design, commercial and private interiors and architecture. All the different scales are intertwined in their work, referring both to the tradition of understanding design as an essential part of our living and the environment, and above all to the vision of so-called good design, which has been gradually refined by several generations of designers from the Industrial Revolution to the ten principles of good design formulated by Dieter Rams in the 1970s.
